Logistics

Our base of operations for flying is out of Finlayson Lake on the Robert Campbell Highway, 150 road miles north of Watson Lake, Yukon Territory. There are a number of ways to get to Finlayson Lake. You can drive your own vehicle to our base, rent a car in Whitehorse and drive there, get a shuttle to move you to Finlayson or catch the shuttle to Watson Lake and we will pick you up..
At Finlayson Lake we have float docks, plus a secure parking area to leave your vehicle while on your adventure. We do not live or park our aircraft at Finlayson Lake, we stay 15 air miles to the east at McEvoy Lake (Inconnu Lodge). We do however have a cabin at Finlayson that you are welcome to overnight in. It will accommodate 6 - 8 persons.

Flying to our Base:

For those wishing to fly into our base of operations directly from Whitehorse or elsewhere, we have a very good 3000 foot runway at Inconnu Lodge. Many times clients will arrange a charter with us to fly directly into the Lodge, then onto their final destination.

Renting a car:

Most clients will find that it is far easier to fly into Whitehorse, then rent a car or hire a van to get to our Finlayson Lake base. If you are thinking about renting a car, book the car well in advance as there is a limited supply during the summer months. There are a number of rental companies in Whitehorse, Rent a Wreck, Driving Force, Budget, Particular Car and Truck Rentals. The drive to our base is 330 miles / 532 kilometers. We recommend driving the northern route from Whitehorse, up to Carmacks, over to Faro, then south past Ross River to Finlayson Lake. There is good signage on this highway and much of the route is paved. Make sure the rental company gives you a full sized spare, and check it for air.

Driving your own vehicle to the Yukon:

To drive to our base from south of the Yukon one would take the Alaska Highway or the Stewart Cassiar Highway to Watson Lake, then the Robert Campbell Highway north to Finlayson Lake. We are located 150 road miles north of Watson Lake. A good portion of this road is now paved.
No matter which route you take to get to our Finlayson Lake base, it can be driven with pretty much any type of car. Tire repair stations can be a distance apart, so bring good tires and leave the doughnut spare at home.
The turn off to our Finlayson base on the Robert Campbell highway is well marked. It is right at the bottom of a large hill on the south end of Finlayson Lake.
